CHARGE
- Facilitate member development and submission of program proposals for the 2008 Portland annual meeting, encouraging focus on relevant educational needs of the membership and the meeting theme, "Energize, Explore, Evolve."
- Whenever requested, assist program coordinators in their preparation of programs selected for presentation at the annual meeting.
- From the 2008 AALL program proposals not selected by AMPC, recommend up to two (?) proposals to the SCCLL Board for direct SIS sponsorship. For any proposals selected for such sponsorship, serve as liaison between the program coordinator(s) and AALL Headquarters to ensure submission of all necessary program information, and assist with publicity of the programs.
- Forward information about all 2008 program proposals not selected for presentation at the annual meeting, to the next Education Committee for 2009 annual meeting planning.
- Facilitate execution of at least two moderated SCCLL listserv discussions on "best practices" topics identified through recent membership survey(s).
- Working with AALL Education Committee and Education Coordinator, explore ideas and make recommendations to the SCCLL Board for up to two (?) educational programs to be offered outside the AALL annual meeting, which could be funded by grant money available from the AALL Continuing Professional Edcuation Committee.
- Investigate, along with Grants Committee, promotion and endorsement for the annual Institute for Court Management (ICM) Court Library Management Program in Williamsburg as a quality SIS educational opportunity.
