The ALL-SIS Faculty Services Committee roundtable at AALL, Monday, July 16, 11:45 a.m. – 1 p.m. will discuss three topics:
Do We Train or Do We Provide — Do you routinely make decisions about how self-sufficient you think a professor wants (or needs) to be? Are they looking for help or for instruction? Help us identify the factors that enter into these decisions and find out how other librarians approach the issue. Moderator - Margaret Schilt
The Obsessive Reference Librarian (spin-off of the listserv discussion on boundaries) — Answering email from attorneys, faculty, students, clerks or patrons on Saturday night? Join our support group, bring your worst examples and your best suggestions. Moderator - Marianne Alcorn
What Your New Faculty Member Needs From You and the Library — What can you do for new tenure track faculty and new hires to your law school to have them succeed in their classrooms and in their scholarship. Rewards from a successful relationship are many — explore and share creative and successful strategies for new faculty support. Moderator - Adeen Postar
Each moderator will briefly introduce a topic and then we'll break up into three groups to strategize, share, and report our findings back to the entire group.
We hope to see you there!
