TRIALL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR
AALL
For Immediate Release
March 4, 2004
LexisNexis™, in conjunction with the American
Association of Law Libraries, will offer “Teaching
Research in Academic Law Libraries (TRIALL) Conference”
on July 8 and 9, 2004 in Boston, MA, as a pre-conference
to the AALL Annual Meeting. TRIALL provides an
excellent professional development opportunity
for law librarians who want to learn more about
instruction in academic settings.
The mission of the 2004 TRIALL conference is
to prepare academic law librarians to be successful
teachers by focusing on effective curricula and
presentation skills. The objectives are as follows:
- Curriculum:
- Creative content development
- Dynamic teaching tools
- Effective grading and evaluations
- Presentation
- Critiquing models
- Enhancing skills
Through a variety of interactive, participatory
and problem solving sessions, conference attendees
will learn about effective instruction. Enrollment
will be limited to 30 participants to maximize
the learning and sharing of information. The TRIALL
Conference will include presentations, structured
breakout sessions, demonstrations and ample opportunity
for networking with the faculty, council and other
attendees.
LexisNexis is working with an Advisory Council
of Academic Law Librarians to develop the curriculum
of the conference. Council members include Prano
Amjadi, Santa Clara University; Timothy Coggins,
University of Richmond; Michael Whiteman, Northern
Kentucky University; and Vicki Szymczak, Brooklyn
Law School.
There is no registration fee to attend the TRIALL
