VALL Wins Chapter Professional
Development Award
For Immediate Release
July 3, 2003
The Awards Committee of the American Association
of Law Libraries has selected the Virginia Association
of Law Libraries as the recipient of the 2003
One-Time Chapter Professional Development Award.
VALL won the award for its educational program
Exploring Connections at VALL -- 2002. According
to the committee, the program’s cohesive
theme worked well with individual topics on new
or well-established areas of law librarianship.
The theme was also carried out in panel discussions
and in the clearly structured social events that
promoted interaction among the participants.
There were no nominations for the Comprehensive
Award.
Introduced in 2002, the Chapter Professional
Development Awards recognize outstanding educational
programming developed by AALL chapters for their
members and others. The One-Time Award is handed
out to a chapter for a single quality program
or workshop of one-half day in length or more.
The Comprehensive Award recognizes a chapter that
excels at designing a comprehensive quality professional
program of up to one year in length.
The award will be presented July 14 during the
AALL 96th Annual Meeting and Conference in Seattle
during the Association Luncheon.
