SCALL Gala
to Mark Chapter's 50th Anniversary

The
Southern California Association of Law Libraries will host a gala celebration
in honor of its 50th anniversary Dec. 4 at the University of Southern California
in Los Angeles, the site of the first SCALL meeting. To
commemorate this historic milestone, the gala will feature a special 50th anniversary
presentation, "A Chapter in History," by emcees Mary Dryden, head librarian
at Riordan & McKinzie in Los Angeles, and Bob Ryan, librarian at Hill, Farrer
& Burrill, LLP in Los Angeles. The presentation will cover the chapter's origins
and highlight its significant achievements over the last 50 years. Renee Rastorfer
of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles will present a video depicting librarians
in television and movies. Sheila Stone, reference librarian at the University
of La Verne in Ontario, Calif., will stage a slide show featuring SCALL members.
Special guests include SCALL President Cornell Winston, AALL President Carol Avery
Nicholson, former SCALL presidents from 1952-2002, and life and retired SCALL
members. The formal
