AALL Members to Receive New Ballots

For Immediate Release
March 26, 2002

AALL members will receive new ballots for the 2002 AALL Officer and Board Member Election by mail due to an error that occurred when mailing the original ballots.

AALL used an incorrect mailing list when it mailed members their original ballots on March 4. As a result, a number of individuals who are no longer active members received ballots and new members did not receive ballots. Because the secret ballots are returned with no indication of who the sender is, the voting will be conducted again. AALL did not discover the error until AALL Network Systems Administrator Reggie Swanigan returned from medical leave this month after suffering a serious injury in January.

A new ballot will be mailed on March 26 with a cover letter explaining the problem that occurred with the original mailing. This new ballot is a different color from the original ballot. Please discard the original ballot and return the new ballot by April 30.

If you have any questions, please contact AALL Director of Finance and Administration Steve Ligda.
