The recipient of the 2000 American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) Best New Product Award is IndexMaster, available at http://www.indexmaster.com/. This award recognizes innovative new products that enhance or improve access to legal information, the legal research process, or procedures for technical processing of library materials. A product is "new" if it has been in the library-related marketplace for less than two years. IndexMaster, offered by IndexMaster Inc. in Avon Lake, Ohio, is a Web database that provides a powerful means to search through the table of contents and indexes of several thousand legal treatises. Using keyword, title, author, and/or publisher searches, users can obtain listings of relevant treatises that include title, publisher, author, price, and ISBN number. It is also possible to view the actual index and table of contents for each treatise or to create a link to them from a user's own Web based catalog or intranet. Titles included in IndexMaster can be ordered online directly from the publishers. The award will be presented at the 93rd AALL Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA, July 15-20, 2000.

The American Association of law Libraries was founded in 1906 to promote and enhance the value of law libraries to the legal and public communities, to foster the profession of law librarianship, and to provide leadership in the field of legal information.
