On behalf of AALL, I am happy to welcome our new executive director, Kate Hagan. Kate starts her position today in our Chicago Headquarters office. She will spend the next few weeks meeting with staff and getting acquainted with the Association and its management. She’ll also learn about the interests and needs of AALL members. She looks forward to attending her first AALL Annual Meeting and Conference in New Orleans in just a few weeks, and I hope many of you will have the opportunity to meet her there.
We are fortunate that Interim Executive Director Steve Ligda has agreed to remain with us through July to help Kate with the transition. He will continue at our Headquarters in Chicago and will be with us in New Orleans as well, so no farewell messages are in order right now. But I do want to say that we have been tremendously fortunate to have Steve with us through this transition period. It’s great that many of us will be able to thank him in person at the Annual Meeting!
Our Chicago Headquarters had a new, improved phone system installed last week. The main phone number remains the same: 312-939-4764. However, the extensions have changed. Please listen carefully to the new instructions when you dial the main number.
Please make sure that your listing in the 2007-2008 AALL Directory and Handbook is accurate—you can do this yourself by updating your public address in the AALLNET Members Only Section by June 30.
Did you change jobs this year? Please note that employer information is the one part of your personal information that you cannot change online. To update your employer information, please contact Membership Services Coordinator Hannah Phelps at 312/939-4764, extension 210, by June 30.
Although the Directory will not be printed and distributed until October, any changes made after June 30 will not be in the Directory. If you know that your contact information will change between now and next fall, please send the new information to Hannah by June 30.
If you do not wish to be listed in the Directory, you can exclude your listing under "Mail Options" in the AALLNET Members Only Section.
