TYPE: Special Committee

PURPOSE: The Awards Review Special Committee shall review the existing AALL Awards program as to ensure its scope and purpose are in alignment with the Association's mission and Strategic Directions.

CHARGE: The Awards Review Special Committee shall review the AALL Awards program to ensure the program is providing recognition in the appropriate categories. This review includes making recommendations to sunset awards that are no longer meeting their original purpose. It also includes consideration of the creation of an award for any new emerging categories in legal information and law librarianship, which the current program does not address.

TIME COMMITMENT: The committee will meet by conference call as necessary to complete its work, and make its report and recommendations to the Executive Board for consideration at the July 2017 Executive Board meeting.

TENURE: Membership on the committee will be until the committee completes its charge.

SIZE: The committee shall consist of a chair, six members and a non-voting Executive Board and staff liaison.
