JSI Conference Registration opens:

The program sessions for the 2008 Joint Study Institute, scheduled for June 25–28, 2008, in Washington, D.C., are set, and speakers are being confirmed. The JSI will feature presentations on the examination and use of international law in U.S. court decisions, on the concept of federalism (the relationship between the law of the federal and state governments), digitization of the world's legal materials, and many more. Program sessions and meals are scheduled for Eric E. Hotung International Law Building at Georgetown University Law Center. Several tours and special meals are planned. A detailed program and events listings are available on the JSI website.

The conference delegate registration fee is $425. The companion registration fee is $250. Details on the meals and events included in the registration fees are available on the Registration page of the JSI website. Attendance is limited to 60 delegates with preference given to attendees outside the United States. Conference registration opened on January 1, 2008.

Accommodations will be at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. Hotel rates are $225 for a single room, $250 for a double room, plus 14.5% tax. Hotel Registration is open now, and reservations can be made through the link on the Accommodations page of the JSI website.

Listserv established for JSI delegates:

A listserv has been established for JSI delegates, speakers and the planning committee. The listserv will act as a vehicle for communication among those participating in the JSI. JSI delegates will receive instructions on participation in the listserv when they register.

Library tours set:

Tours of the libraries at the law firm of Covingon & Burling, the Department of Justice and the National Archives & Records Administration have been arranged for interested JSI delegates. The tours will occur concurrently on Wednesday afternoon, June 25 prior to the JSI opening reception and dinner. Details are available on the Tours & Events page.
