AdvocacyChapter Liaisons ~ AALL Advocacy Contacts ~ Advocacy Toolkit ~ Advocacy Listserv This section of the Government Relations Committee (GRC) website contains materials for grassroots level advocacy. The GRC and the AALL Government Relations Office monitor federal legislation or regulatory activity and other issues national in scope. The Government Relations Office website is the source of the Association's official national level advocacy materials. Apart from national level efforts, however, the GRC liaison for each AALL chapter facilitates advocacy efforts that originate at the grassroots level. Each member of the Government Relations Committee serves as a liaison to one or more of AALL's local chapters and Special Interest Sections (SISs). The liaison promotes the work of the GRC and facilitates chapter and SIS level advocacy concerning proposed laws or regulations affecting the law library community (see Liaison Guidelines ). These pages supplement the official national level advocacy materials. They are an additional source of ideas, arguments, and useful facts for liaisons, chapter/SIS government relations committees, and all other advocates concerned with national and local legislative and regulatory issues affecting law libraries. Collected here are samples of past presentations and useful links relevant to library advocacy work. Individual GRC members created them or they were created by the chapters/SISs themselves and came to the GRC's attention through liaison work. 2009 Advocacy Training Handouts - "AALL Day on the Hill" 2008 Advocacy Training Handouts - "Navigating the Advocacy Wilderness" 2007 Advocacy Training Handouts - "Advocacy Rocks in the Bayou"
