Alston & Bird is seeking an experienced Library Manager for its California offices. This person will work closely with the Library Managers and Reference Librarians in the firm’s other offices located in Atlanta, Charlotte, New York, Research Triangle and Washington, D.C. and under the direction of the Director of Library Services based in Atlanta and the local office Executive Administrator.

Responsibilities:
Manage all print and electronic information resources and technical services, including filing services, in the Los Angeles, Silicon Valley and Ventura County offices.
Maintain a regular schedule to be onsite at each California office.
Utilize SydneyPlus Library Management applications.
Provide research services and consultation for attorneys and staff including legal and non-legal research utilizing multiple print and online resources.
Train attorneys and staff in the use of print and electronic library materials.
Coordinate training and product evaluation with vendors.
Provide cite-checking services for briefs, legal memoranda, articles and seminar materials. Provide current awareness and alert services for attorneys and staff.
Work with other Library Managers, Reference Librarians and staff on firm-wide projects and initiatives.
Assist with research services as needed in other offices.
Promote library services by meeting with attorneys and staff, developing library marketing programs and keeping current on the needs and trends of the Firm.

Required Qualifications: MLS and at least 3 years of experience in a law library setting. Excellent communication, writing and oral skills.
