Purpose:
The purpose of the SANDALL Grants Program is to financially assist
librarians who hold promise of future involvement in the law library
profession. Funds are provided by SANDALL. The SANDALL Grants Program
is a benefit of membership in the Association and was created by
the SANDALL Board in December 1998. Grants issued will be used
to support attendance at association-sponsored educational activities,
including SANDALL workshops and the SCALL Institute by covering
registration costs only.
Qualifications:
An applicant must be a current member of SANDALL.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. In the
event circumstances prevent the use of the grant by a recipient,
the grant reverts to the Committee for disposition at the discretion
of the Chair. Members of the Association are only allowed to receive
one grant during any fiscal year, which ends on July 31st.
Selection Criteria:
Preference may be given to:
Individuals who have never attended a SCALL or SANDALL
Institute or Workshop.
Financial need.
Active members of SANDALL.
New or student members of SANDALL.
Prior grant recipients will be given lower priority consideration
for an award, especially if the award was made within the last
two years.
Notification:
Grant recipients will be notified by phone. A general announcement
will be shared in the Association newsletter and posted to the
SANDALL maillist.
