Grants and Scholarships Committee Procedures
- Consult with the Board of Directors and the Corporate Sponsorship Committee on potential donors and meet with Vendors.
- Contact local library schools to promote the availability of LLAGNY scholarships. A LLAGNY scholarship recipient must be:
- a resident of New York , New Jersey or Connecticut
- a degree candidate in an accredited library school
- Advertise through Law Lines and the LLAGNY Web Site, LLAGNY scholarships and grants.
- On an annual basis, evaluate applications for and award:
- LLAGNY educational scholarship(s) - $1200
- Grant(s) to attend the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) annual meeting, an AALL Institute or workshop, which precedes or follows the annual meeting.
Purpose of the Grants and Scholarship Committee
To manage the selection and awards of the annual LLAGNY scholarships and grants.
Responsibilities of the Grants and Scholarship Committee
- Coordinate process for the funding of LLAGNY scholarship and grant program
- Implement process for application, selection and awards
- Advertise availability of scholarships and grants
- Announce winners at the Annual June Dinner Meeting
Announcement - Memorial Scholarship
The Grants and Scholarship Committee is accepting donations towards a Type 2 scholarship to be given in the memory of those LLAGNY members who have passed away since June 2006.
Donations are tax-deductable to the extent permitted by law.
