Securities Research on the Internet: Brown Bag Lunch Topic

Therese Clark, Reference Librarian at the University of Colorado Law Library, was the presenter on Feb. 29^th when the Denver firm librarians met at Holme Roberts & Owen for a Brown Bag Lunch. Therese did a live demonstration comparing and contrasting the features of LIVEDGAR, FreeEDGAR, 10-K Wizard and the SEC websites. Therese praised LIVEDGAR as a low cost alternative to using Westlaw / Lexis for securities research. LIVEDGAR has excellent customer support, multiple download options including email, and an alert service. FreeEDGAR and 10-K Wizard have enhanced search features and a cleaner format for printing than the SEC.gov website. Therese also reminded us that company websites are another place to look for SEC filings such as annual reports.
