The CoALL annual meeting was called to order by Tom Duggan.
Old Business:
Kaye Ammons asked where CoALL supplies are kept as she could not find any during the SWALL convention. She now has two banners. Patty Wellinger indicated she has the archives at the University of Denver Law School.
Linda Rose asked about a retention policy for CoALL materials and wondered if that could be a task for a member-at-large. There was board discussion on how to carry out creating a retention policy and storing supplies.
Mark Estes indicated that AALL might be able to keep archive material.
Druet Cameron Klugh and Rob Richards thanked CoALL for their travel scholarships.
New Business:
The following committee reports were given:
Government Relations - Druet Cameron Klugh
Report is attached. Also discussed was the library associations federation concept. The question as brought up as to whether there should be a federation. The other associations are moving forward on the concept.
Programs and Treasurer - Linda Rose
Treasurer's report is attached. Linda indicated that approximately $1,500 was made on the SWALL conference.
Bev Agnew and Druet Klugh will co-chair the committee to present "Legal Research for the Non-Law Librarian" at the CLA Annual Conference at Snowmass on October 7, 1999.
Linda discussed programs for the upcoming year. The Holiday party will be at the Supreme Court on December 9th. Also discussed was whether an institute would be held. Druet is doing a presentation at CLA in October 99. Also discussed was the possibility of a joint SLA/CoALL meeting on knowledge management or information audits. David Selden proposed a tour of the National Indian Law Library.
Nominations - Lois Calvert
The results of the election were announced. The Board will pick Mary Water's successor for the Long Range Planning Committee. Martha Campbell volunteered and was accepted.
Membership and Placement - Bev Agnew
Report is attached. CoALL membership applications are due by 8/1 in order for the membership to be listed in the directory.
Marketing
No report.
Newsletter - Caryl Shipley
The newsletter should be coming faster. Rothman is no longer being used as the printer/publisher.
Long Range Planning - Tom Duggan
The question was asked as to who would do the compiling of the union list of city codes.
Advertising - Patty Wellinger
No ads had to be solicited this year.
The 1999 annual meeting was adjourned and the meeting was turned over to the new officers.
