AALLNET Copyright Policy
Approved by the AALL Executive Board November 4, 2000 Tab 9
- Liability for Web site content is solely the author's responsibility.
AALL does not actively monitor the content of
linked sites, but will investigate complaints
of violation of terms included in this policy
and act accordingly. AALL does not verify, endorse,
or otherwise vouch for an author's content or
links, and is not responsible for any infringing,
libelous, or defamatory content or links, for
material which is an invasion of privacy or
publicity rights, or for any other violations
of federal or state law. AALL has the right
to refuse to post or to remove any material
, including links, that in its discretion are
objectionable, violate this policy, or when
necessary to protect the Association's interests.
AALL has the right to disclose any information
as necessary to satisfy any law, regulation,
or governmental request.
- AALL will remove from AALLNET, when it is made aware of its existence, copyrighted material that appears without a displayed or linked-to note that permission has been obtained from the copyright owner, and material that AALL judges to constitute libel, plagiarism, misinformation, pornography, obscenity, an illegal activity, or that incites or advocates violence.
- Contributors to AALLNET understand that AALL policy permits works included in AALL publications to be reproduced without permission for teaching, scholarship, or research, including multiple copies for classroom use, provided that copies are distributed at or below cost, the author and the source of publication are identified on each copy, and proper notice of copyright is affixed to each copy. Authors also have the right to allow copies of their works to be made and distributed for teaching, scholarship, or research purposes, provided that the author and the AALL source of publication are identified on each copy and notice of the use is given to AALL.
- AALLNET includes links and pointers to Internet sites, content and
services provided by third parties. AALL does
not operate or control any information, products,
or services that third parties - including AALL
chapters -- provide on or through AALLNET or
on a website linked to by AALLNET. The materials
on this site and third-party sites are provided
"as is" and without warranties of
any kind either express or implied, including,
but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability
and fitness for a particular purpose. AALL does
not warrant that AALLNET or any of its functions
will be uninterrupted or error free, or that
this site is free of viruses or other harmful
components. AALL does not warrant or make any
representations regarding the use of materials
in this site or in third-party sites in terms
of their correctness, accuracy, timeliness reliability,
or otherwise.
