Subscribe to AALL’s Advocacy Listserv

The Government Relations Office encourages all AALL members and members of our chapters to subscribe to AALL’s Advocacy Listserv, an open discussion forum that will keep you in the loop on the latest policy news and give you an opportunity to share information about what’s happening in your state.

The Advocacy Listserv launched at the request of AALL members who attended the successful 1999 Advocacy Training in Washington, D.C. as a means for them to stay connected and informed. Listserv members can post news, questions, or concerns to the hundreds of law librarians who subscribe to the list.

When an issue arises in your state that impacts law libraries, it is especially important that you post a message to the listserv. We rely on our members and chapters to track state issues that affect our profession, including:

  • Funding for state, court, and county law libraries
  • Elimination of print legal resources in favor of online-only
  • Digital authentication and preservation of online legal resources
  • State depository library program
  • Freedom of information
  • Privacy

By speaking up for law libraries and taking action when it's needed, you'll become an important member of our Advocacy Team. Please help protect the interests of law libraries by subscribing to our Advocacy Listserv.
