Submit Your Nominations for AALL Executive Board
The 2007 AALL Nominations Committee seeks your assistance. Please send them suggestions of AALL colleagues that you would like to see on the slate to fill upcoming vacancies on the AALL Executive Board.
Historically, individuals nominated for these positions have established their potential for senior leadership through previous service with AALL committees, special interest sections, or chapters. The committee will work throughout the spring to find outstanding candidates for two board positions, as well as the offices of vice president/president-elect and secretary. The slate will be announced prior to the July 2007 Annual Meeting, the election will be held during November 2007, and those elected will begin their service in July 2008.
Your help in identifying individuals with leadership skills will be most appreciated. Please send the names of your nominees to Nominations Committee Chair Al Podboy or to any member of the committee as soon as convenient, but no later than March 23.
Information about the AALL Nominations Committee and its process appears here.

RIPS Teach-In Kit Goes Online
The Research Instruction and Patron Services (RIPS) Special Interest Section is proud to announce its release of the 2007 RIPS Teach-In Kit on March 19. Each year, RIPS creates a Teach-In Kit, which contains fresh materials for use in promotion of National Library Week. The Teach-In Kit will be available to AALL members on AALLNET.
This year's kit marks a transition from publication in print to online, and RIPS is excited about the change to a more dynamic format. An online presence for the kit means value added for AALL members. The kit can be released in a timelier manner without page limitations. RIPS will maintain an online archive of the kits. So if you have previously cataloged the kits, we recommend including the above-referenced url in your catalog record.
Our thanks go to all of this year's contributors. Please do not hesitate to leave feedback on this year's kit with either Jennifer Murray or Gail Partin.

AALL Releases Second Edition of Guide to Fair Business Practices
Included with your March issue of AALL Spectrum you received a copy of the new second edition of the AALL Guide to Fair Business Practices for Legal Publishers. This free print copy is provided to each AALL member in order to promote the guide. Additional copies are available for purchase, and publishers can receive up to three free copies.
Many thanks go to the Fair Business Practices Implementation Task Force, comprised of Chair Kay Todd, Rita Dermody, Kamla King Hedges, and Richard Vaughan, who worked during 2005-2006 to update the guide. The revisions were approved by the AALL Executive Board in July 2006. The task force added examples of "Practices to Follow/Practices to Avoid," as well as references to the AALL Principles for Licensing Electronic Resources. These additions are intended to make the guide easier to understand and improve its usefulness for librarians and publishers.
